Character: Sion Astal
Series: The Legend of the Legendary Heroes
Character Age: 20
Canon: There comes a time in every young talented mage's life when his best friendblackmails sends him off on a mission to recover powerful magical relics said to have been used by great heroes to defeat demons who threatened to destroy the world in times of legend, for sake of using them to convince everyone to stop fighting and bring peace to the world now. Or well, maybe that's not so typical. And maybe things aren't quite that simple, either.
Sion Astal is the young king of the Roland Empire, a war hero and generally charismatic young man who's determined to make his country and the world at large a better place. Whether sending his best friend off to search out rumored magical weapons of mass destruction, or working himself nonstop for days despite the protests of his subordinates, Sion is nothing if not wholeheartedly dedicated to this cause. Of course, his flawless smiles are only the surface, keeping his true doubts and pain tucked safely out of sight. However his idealism is genuine, giving him reason to keep smiling, whether it be politely negotiating with nobles or childishly teasing his closest friends.
Sample Post:
So this is the famous Directorship of Sieff Yudi, is it? I must say, the rumors really don't do it justice; while it certainly has a most... unique aroma, it's true, I never imagined it could be quite so pervasive. It's a wonder that anyone here can still smell anything at all, really. And while the welcome they gave certainly didn't lack in enthusiasm, even for a local custom the lack of modesty is another matter entirely.
Ah, but that isn't the important matter at hand. While there's certainly no question that Director Sayre's invitation to a conference to discuss possible trade agreements was highly suspicious at best - though the automaton cattle drawing the carriage she supplied were truly remarkable - to think she would so brazenly drop all pretenses of courtesy... No, it's outright strange, when it comes down to it. There's been no mention of ransom, no guards, nor any attempts on my person beyond the bizarrely friendly wildlife; were it not for that strange barrier there's nothing to suggest any overtly hostile intent at all.
Unless... this was really just another ploy, with Director Sayre's cooperation, to force me to take a break from my work. But who would have been behind this? It wouldn't be the first time those guys tried something like this, but who would be behind it this time? Or don't tell me they've been plotting something together! They of all people should know better; there's so much at stake right now, so much still to do, and if we really want to change things for the better... Ah, but there's no use speculating, one way or another I'll just have to get to the bottom of this, and get out of here as quickly as possible.
And ideally before one of these natives does something worse than trying to serve me their "regional specialty" of a soup I keep hearing about, at that.
