*hello, Johto, have a certain silver-haired king looking thoughtful and perhaps a bit concerned....*

You know, the apparent lack of effort on the part of the local law enforcement is one thing, but does anyone else find it troubling that no one seems to be doing anything about the crimes carried out within just the last week? Particularly in the middle of such large cities; I imagine it's nearly enough to make one rethink walking the streets alone, all things considered.

I suppose that's technically true. Though I'd still hate to be caught out when training with the weaker members of the team...

Honestly, if I was, I'd always try to have my big gun available to switch out. Even for training. The little ones aren't going to learn anything if they're always fainting.

But even so, if they've been stealing from the gym leaders, even...

To be fair, gym leaders are a natural target. Besides the money they give out, badges themselves have value, and their Pokemon have to be well-trained.

You know though, that's one thing I've never understood. While highly trained pokemon are generally stronger, doesn't the simple fact that they have been more trained mean that they're less likely to obey someone they aren't familiar with? Which then would theoretically make them poorer targets for thieves...

If you've ever met a thief, you'd know they're not... ah, the brightest Litwick in the room.

Thievery is the ultimate expression of laziness and the people who gravitate to it do so because anything else would require thinking too hard.

...Not really. If any Rocket wants to start shit with me, I say bring it.

What about the trouble they cause attacking things like the gyms or the centers?

Look, bulgestench, there was one instance in the last year that actually caused shit to hit the whirling device. That weird virus that went around was likely caused by them. That was a little fucking terrifying, I admit. It took months for some people to get back to "normal."

Everything else really seems more like an inconvenience more than anything else.

I suppose that's one way to look at it, though I certainly wouldn't want to go inviting trouble, either.

Why not? There's fuck all to do around here.

For one thing, I'd rather not put my team and those who might rely on me at risk.

I wouldn't be calling it putting them in danger if they are ready for it.

There've gotta be other people who are frustrated with it. They just don't feel like showing themselves, I guess.

There are, or at least, there were, but they're at least as secretive as Team Rocket themselves.

Until someone manages to actively and visibly bring such criminals to justice, then they'll just become bolder, while everyone else is given more reason to fear them.

Yeah. It'll probably have to be someone who came from somewhere other than Johto, too. Hell knows the police are useless.

I almost wonder if it wouldn't be better for those of us from other worlds to create our own system of justice. Much as I dislike the idea of circumventing the local authorities, if they're unable to keep order...

If someone decided to try, I sure as hell wouldn't stop them. It'd be more than the police around here do.

If there are, I've seen little enough evidence of it in all my time here. It's rather disheartening, really.

Well, this city is large and there is only so much I can do alone with these limitations placed unfairly upon me. [ So she's just a bit peeved.

JUST A BIT. ] If it were not against the law to have more than six Pokemon patrolling at all times, I would go for it.

I can only imagine how frustrating being so limited must be...

And that certainly would be nice. I know that I, for one, would probably rest easier with the knowledge that someone like you were being so proactive.

I suppose, in a sense, but... I can't say I've ever truly been all that "powerful", so to speak, on my own. Even in Roland, if it weren't for the help and support of my companions...

It is frustrating to know that I must exercise additional caution solely because my means of even defending myself here is limited.

Are there not more creative options?

Not that I would allow it in my presence. There is no need for one to carry a weapon when I will fight for them.

I imagine there are, though to be completely honest, I don't think I've ever been a particularly outstanding combatant, anyway.

As proud as such an action would make me, admittedly the time spent in jail or doing community service will take me away from the duties I have struggled to uphold for so long.

Though I wonder if some sort of alternative could be arranged. While proper weapons and fighting are restricted, surely sparring for recreation or sport would be permitted...

I haven't heard of any changes, though if I do I certainly will let you know.

If you're thinking of mounting an assault on Team Rocket, I'll be right there beside you. Until then, I'm not dumb enough to try to take on an entire organization by myself.

And if you're training your Pokémon right, it's not like you're really walking down the streets alone, anyway.

I think they'd be a little out of my league, really. Well, maybe if everyone who isn't part of them managed to join forces somehow, then just through sheer numbers...

The problem is, if we technically aren't "alone", then neither are they.
