[Route 29] Video/Action - Ecruteak City

While I realize that the mystery of the so-called 'bloobers' is probably foremost in peoples' minds at the moment, but I thought it might be interesting to consider something else for a while. Namely, just what sort of worlds does everyone come from? Do they have technology and devices similar to this one, or something different altogether? What about things such as magic? Are there many countries, or just a few? And so on.

Share as much or as little as you'd like; I for one would be curious to hear it.

I guess it was kind of called magic at some point...

[ It just sounds so odd to think of it all as magic... but he'll mull that over some other time. For now, there's the rest of the question. ]

The world I come from is kind of like this one... except we don't have Pokemon running around. There's things like the Pokegear, too. We call them cellphones. But I'm a little curious... how different is this world from yours?

Well, we have nothing like pokemon either, to begin with. And nothing quite like the devices and technology here; certainly not anything so commonplace, at least. On the other hand, magic is well-known and researched, to the extent that learning to use it is a part of basic training for any soldier, for example.

Some people in my world still use what others would consider magic... but it isn't as commonly accepted as it is in yours.

I see... In that it's looked down upon, or that people do not believe it exists, as seems to be the case with people from some worlds here?

Magic's something most people consider to exist only in stories. There are only a few who still believe it's real, I'm afraid.

Funny how different things are between worlds even though most of us look considerably human.

It is rather fascinating, yes. Especially as where things such as the available technology is merely a question of how far a given area has or hasn't been developed, magic seems to be entirely different in principle in each world.

Makes the alternate universe theory seem almost possible, doesn't it? If our worlds were just alternate universes of one world, I mean.

Do you think that's truly likely? I know the world I come from has virtually nothing in common with this one, save that humans exist there...

It's a possibility... I mean, that's why they're called alternate universes after all. The environment's almost the same. Except for the pokemon and the change in technology and the geographical layout... everything else is almost similar. Humans are humans, a tree is a tree, we get air to breathe...

It's a little uncanny if you ask me.

I can't say I know enough about other worlds to say. After all, who's to say that it isn't simply typical for worlds to be created with certain basic aspects in common?

You've got a point. Who knows, apart from the usual chemical compositions, there might actually be a kind of template for creating worlds.

unfortunately, I don't think either of us have a way of proving it.
