Despite this, however, his smile seems even brighter than usual....*

I must admit, I was rather skeptical of the idea being able to ride a flying bird- even a giant one- at all, let alone long distances, but it seems this place is rather full of surprises. And rather worth the effort to obtain the ability to do so, I might add, considering the travel time it saves.

I don't suppose the rewards of challenging the other gyms are nearly as useful?

Well, I challenged the first gym after I'd been here almost two months, but I imagine I could have managed it much sooner than that...

Well, there's quite a bit to be learned if you work at the pokemon centers, but also libraries, or from research published in books or magazines...

You can work at a pokemon center? I didn't know that... once I get to Violet, I'll try that out!

Yes, they usually need assistance either with filing, or with the pokemon that are brought in.

Information on various species of pokemon, their traits, strengths and weaknesses, how various people train or battle them, and so on. If you care to pay attention to the paperwork you're processing, of course.
