Despite this, however, his smile seems even brighter than usual....*

I must admit, I was rather skeptical of the idea being able to ride a flying bird- even a giant one- at all, let alone long distances, but it seems this place is rather full of surprises. And rather worth the effort to obtain the ability to do so, I might add, considering the travel time it saves.

I don't suppose the rewards of challenging the other gyms are nearly as useful?

Anyway, the point is, Fly is the most useful gym reward here. The other HMs and stuff were way more useful in the games.

Yep. Well, that's not, like, the whole point of the game or whatever, but that's how you get from place to place. You move big boulders or smash them to get them out of your way, you surf across the water or cut down trees....
