I must admit, I was rather skeptical of the idea being able to ride a flying bird- even a giant one- at all, let alone long distances, but it seems this place is rather full of surprises. And rather worth the effort to obtain the ability to do so, I might add, considering the travel time it saves.

I don't suppose the rewards of challenging the other gyms are nearly as useful?

I would not know in all honesty. We traveled over the world a great distance quickly, but Pokemon can do the same thing. One would have to sit down and compare the distance traveled, then the speeds... Well, there are better things one could do with their time, I suppose.

Yes, I believe that is their intended purpose. Although I was told by another that they were useful tools in modern war. They could carry weapons and drop them upon towns. Such a thing could not properly be defended against, I think...

It's cool, I love playing threads out to the bitter end, they sometimes get so interesting!

Well, of course there is that application as well. Although I'm not so certain about being unable to defend against it- you need only find a means to strike down the transports before they can attack their intended target, after all...

Yes, particularly since it seems magic doesn't work here. Though it might need to be rather more powerful to impact something capable of transporting so much, I'd imagine.

In terms of theory or its practical use? I can certainly use it as well as anyone with the basic training, or could before coming here, but I'm afraid I've never studied all of its mechanics in depth...

Yes, on both counts. That is, anyone with access to the correct instruction could potentially learn to use it, in theory. In practice, not everyone necessarily has the opportunity. But certainly it's one of the basic skills any soldier must learn, along with things such as swordsmanship.

It's become such a vital tool for war, that over the centuries, only those nations that could utilize more powerful magic better have survived. Training one's soldiers in its usage is simply a matter of course. I find it stranger that it doesn't seem to exist here, myself.

Well, I suppose that's possible, but the natives of this world don't seem to consider it such, and without being able to use magic here myself I'd have no way of knowing for certain...

How could they consider it magic if magic is something often found in fairy tales for them? They also have no knights or kings, but both walk amongst them in these lands.

Only because such have been brought here from other worlds, isn't it? And it's certainly possible that the pokemons' abilities are from some other source; certainly they seem to treat as something as natural as wind or lightning in their research of them.

I'm not certain. Ryner and I haven't come across much information related to it beyond what's apparently commonly known, at least, but we've mostly been studying the legends.
