[Route 29] Video/Action - Azalea Town

*Hello, Route, have a certain silver-haired king with an almost uncharacteristically bewildered expression on his face*

Now, I realize that there's a number of Pokemon which can evolve in more than one various ways, such as how Eevee can become one of seven different ones, but...

*he turns the camera, panning past a Ninjask that's sitting quietly in the grass nearby to zoom in on a Shedinja*

...But is it normal for one to evolve into two separate ones at once?

[Whelp he'd would have been happy never seeing that thing again. ]

So that's where those bastard come from, I should have known. It's not normal, though it does make sense in a twisted sort of way.

Yeah, I didn't have my soul taken, but I did have a bunch of soulless people laying around my place.

I might have an answer to why. You've probably notice that Pokemon are similar in looks and behavior to some regular animals, right. There is one animal I know that similar to a that Nincada and it's evolutions. Have you ever heard of a cicada before?

There bugs that normal stay underground until a certain age. Once they're on the surface they shed they're skin, grow a pair of wings and fly off leaving that skin behind.

Nincada, are the pokémon version of them I think. It's just that the left over skin decides it wants to come to life.

That's true but when you think about it most bug pokémon evolve with their shells.

I'm not sure why else shedijna is the only that gets that privilege.

It's probably one of those things you'll never get the chance to figure out. This place is odd when it come to things like that. Like Kangaskhan...

I was given a Kangaskhan egg a while back. When it hatched I got a Kangaskhan but it also had a baby in it's pouch already.

That's what I mean there's is no reason for that to happen. Only explanation I ever received was it's the parenting pokémon so it should have a baby.

[He had such an urge to punch someone that day.]

Pretty much. It weirder that the baby looks different from the parent like it could evolve into the full grown version but if that was case it would have a different name.

We are in a different world, so you're right about that.
