Now, I realize that there's a number of Pokemon which can evolve in more than one various ways, such as how Eevee can become one of seven different ones, but...

*he turns the camera, panning past a Ninjask that's sitting quietly in the grass nearby to zoom in on a Shedinja*

...But is it normal for one to evolve into two separate ones at once?

Ahh, that time there were a lot of them around, they were weird ones that sucked out the souls of whoever looked in their backs or something. But that professor said that isn't natural, so yours should be fine. Anyway, it was a while ago.

It was a pain, because everyone who wasn't affected had to go out catching the Shedinjas with special balls in order to free everyone, while not looking and getting caught up in it too.

What the professor said. Those Shedinjas, that time, weren't natural, which is why they could do that. Kind of makes me wonder where they came from, in that case.
